4 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT IBIZA OFF SEASON.

I remember when I first heard about Ibiza from this great prophet by the name of Mike Posner. His quote went something like this: ‘I took a pill in Ibiza.’ Shortly after that, one of my favorite influencers went on a holiday in Ibiza, and put a video montage up on Youtube. I was like; ‘WHAT A WAOUWWWW, I absolutely need to visit.’

You know what they say, you haven’t really partied till you’ve partied in Ibiza. I spent 4 days in Ibiza in early 2019 and my experience was mind boggling. Without the crazy parties, at that. I didn’t party but I still had a swell time. You are wondering, should I visit Ibiza even if I don’t like to party? ABSOLUTELY.

  1. FLIGHTS ARE CHEAPER.

The peak seasons in Ibiza are typically summer months, June through August. Believe me when I tell you, those flight prices will have you selling a kidney (not kidney beans). If you want to have a taste of Ibiza on a budget, I recommend that you travel between April and May. Those months are perfect because the weather is warming up and you still have your kidneys. I booked a round trip to Ibiza for $600, give and take. I flew with the Spanish carrier Iberia airlines. They are well respected and by that I mean, they feed you during your flight. That is important.

NOTE: Check out flights from this carrier or any other Latin America carrier directly on their website, it is most likely going to cost you less.

  2. LODGING IS GOLDEN AND BUDGET FRIENDLY.

When I think about all the places I’ve trotted to, Ibiza is definitely the most expensive thus far. However, off season will make sense for your wallet. I was blessed enough to stay at the HardRock Hotel during my stay. The HardRock is one of the world’s fanciest hotels because of its 5-star amenities. I am all about the Airbnb and hostel life, but with all the pills being popped in Ibiza, I recommend a secure lodging. Prices at any hotel there vary based on the season and the proximity to the live action. During summer, those big parties you hear about take place at the fancier hotels. Skip the views and settle for something a little further out from the live action. This will save you some money!

  3. LESS TOURISTY.

Everyone wants to travel to Ibiza to experience the party scene. If that is not you, avoid the summer months at all costs. If you want to cherish an intimate experience with your loved ones, in a quieter environment, Ibiza off season is the way to go. To be able to explore a city without stepping on a tourist’s head is priceless. The beaches are empty, the streets are less saturated, the restaurants are intimate and the atmosphere is just golden.

NOTE: I don’t recommend Ibiza in December or January. It is just as cold as Minnesota.

  4. UBER EVERYWHERE?

I can't remember who sang the song ‘Uber everywhere,’ but that was a lie. You can Uber everywhere within the United States. There are no Ubers in Ibiza, ladies and gentlemen. Transportation is still convenient because of taxis but they aren’t cheap. I cannot imagine what it costs on-season because off season had me at the edge of my seat. This is one of the reasons you should consider Ibiza off season - taxis are cheaper. Remember that you are here to explore, so you will be going back and forth at least three times a day. Do the math at $20 a ride, going one way.
