3 REASONS WHY I CAN'T WAIT TO VISIT ALL CANOPY BY HILTON AROUND THE WORLD

I celebrated the end of the 2nd quarter and the Juneteenth holiday with a sweet escape to San Antonio, Texas. That’s right, San Antonio, Texas! I’ve been to Dallas once and the mighty Dallas-Fort International airport twice, but that's the extent of my Texas escapades. When I  thought about serene destinations I could escape to this summer, San Antonio wasn't at the top of my list. It’s safe to say 36 hours in this beautiful city completely changed my mind.

Can we agree that a destination is only as magical as the hotel experience? During my 36 hours in San Antonio, I had the pleasure of staying at the Canopy by Hilton for the first time. My hotel experience amplified my affinity for San Antonio and the Canopy brand.

Did you know that Canopy by Hilton has 24 Canopy properties open around the globe and more than 35 under development across 16 countries and territories? Canopy by Hilton is a vibrant branded boutique hotel that embodies the neighborhood so that guests and locals have a positively local stay. I can wholeheartedly confirm that Canopy by Hilton gives you all the local feels, allowing you to immerse yourself into the neighborhood on-site through the cuisine and curated space.

Here are three reasons why I can’t wait to visit all the other canopy properties.

1.  The “welcome to the neighborhood” gift.

Upon arrival at Canopy by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk, I was greeted with a welcome to the neighborhood gift. What is so unique about this gift is it varies across properties because it celebrates and reflects the local flavor. I received a glass of champagne, which I found thoughtful after a long flight.  I'm excited to find out what the Paris property has to offer. Perhaps, a croissant? Either way, I can’t wait!

Every week at the San Antonio property, you can partake in a complimentary happy hour at Otro Bar – the rooftop bar on-site. The open-air bar comes with tropical feels and a view of the Riverwalk. This is by far one of the best rooftop bars in San Antonio. Can we agree that a margarita is a local drink in South Texas? Guests can enjoy margaritas and meet new people at the full bar from 4-5 pm. The time and libation option may vary across properties, and that's what makes it unique.

Canopy by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk is located on the historic San Antonio Riverwalk, making it the ideal location. The San Antonio River Walk is the heart of the city. As the #1 attraction in Texas, the River Walk is full of dining, shopping, and cultural experiences. The property embodies the local tastes through its on-site restaurant, Domingo. Domingo offers a modern tribute to South Texas cuisine on the historic San Antonio River Walk. Hands down some of the tastiest cuisine I’ve had in Texas.

2.  The Just-Right rooms are just right for every occasion.

As someone who is always on the go, I value hotel rooms that embody all my needs: an excellent bed, a warm boutique feel, and a luxury bath. The Just-Right room is designed to reflect the surrounding neighborhood. In this case, San Antonio. With a modern upscale touch, I could see the meticulous design of some San Antonio Cathedrals from my window wall. A unique attribute of Canopy is the refillable glass water bottles for every guest. During the warm summer months, I can’t stress the importance of drinking water. Canopy by Hilton understands that all while protecting the environment.

Whether you are a solo traveler like myself, or traveling with a partner and/or on business, the rooms are curated to meet your every need. It’s safe to say, I almost didn’t want to return home.

3. Attractions are located within walking distance.

Canopy by Hilton is designed with your overall experience in mind; hence, they’re located in the best neighborhoods in the city you're visiting.  I discovered that was a huge emphasis at the Canopy by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk because most attractions were within walking distance.  The Alamo, La Villita Historic Arts Village, and San Fernando Cathedral are a half-mile away. Historic Market Square and Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center are within 10 minutes of the boutique hotel.  This is what is so unique about the Canopy brand; they want you to experience the city's neighborhood as if it was your own. I love a good staycation, and anytime I can limit transportation, it adds to my overall experience.

One phrase to describe my experience: ‘A home away from home.’ I enjoyed my stay at Canopy, making my San Antonio experience even more blissful. I look forward to checking out other properties, and you should consider them.

Let me know what you look forward to in a hotel stay. Until then, happy traveling friends.
